I discovered Eris Dysnomia some months ago thanks to that one infamous YouTuber that shouldn't be named, but it wasn't until now that I gave it a go. Needless to say, I had a blast playing it.
Pros
Solid game mechanics
Beautiful Pixel art
Animated sex scenes
Cons
There’s no story, not even an excuse plot
Story
The weakest aspect of the game is its lack of story. There isn't even an excuse plot or an intro that explains who the protagonist is, who we are fighting against, and why it seems everyone has depraved intentions towards the protagonist (we can figure out the last one by ourselves just fine, though). You're thrown into a stage without any explanation, beating the foes that get in your way and their respective boss.
Gameplay
In contrast, the gameplay is solid and features a good variety of game mechanics, so visiting the tutorials is a must to get the most out of them. Each level is split into smaller segments in which you beat enemies left and right and obtain the souls you need to learn and upgrade skills and buy items from the merchant. They are randomized and give you the option to choose between three of the following types: a long road with easy enemies, a short one packed with easy foes, a healing onsen, a room full of aphrodisiacs and easy enemies, and a short one full of harder opponents and more souls to obtain.
Another fun mechanic is using MP to switch to Scythe Mode or Gun Mode. Scythe Mode allows you to dish melee damage in a wide area, making it easier to deal with groups of enemies, while Gun Mode lets you shoot bullets in rapid succession as if you were John Wick himself. Transforming lasts a few seconds, so players must use it sparingly to not run out of MP at the worst moment possible.
Furthermore, the lewd aspect is neatly integrated into the gameplay. Players have to distribute ten sensitivity points between the character's erogenous zones and choose a main fetish that'll affect gameplay in one way or another, be it making her randomly start masturbating when attacking enemies, unlocking a skill to reduce your HP to 1 to make it easier to see defeat scenes, and so on. Moreover, the protagonist obtains new fetishes and different ways to masturbate when enemies use their sex attacks on her, similar to how it works in Karryn's Prison.
Visuals
The art was even better than I initially expected. The main character and the different foes are well-drawn, and the animations are smooth. They also added eye-catching effects to give more flair to the attacks and the protagonist's horniness, including an option to turn off some of them in case players find them excessive. As for the sexual content, the game covers a wide range of fetishes such as breeding, masochism, masturbation, exhibitionism, and other less prevalent ones.
Verdict: Great
Despite its issues, Eris Dysnomia is an incredibly fun action game you'll play from start to finish in one go. It takes about 6 hours to beat, without counting the extra content, so give it a shot if you're a fan of the genre; you won't regret it.
Detailed and fun review. I loved this idea. Keep up the good work <3
