Obscurite Magie: The Blood of Kings is the latest entry in Syun-kan Flowlighter's Obscurite Magie saga, taking place sometime after the event inĀ The City of Sin.
Now we play as an adventurer named Lietta who is looking for the person who murdered her mentor to avenge his death. The story is as good as in the prequel and features a few twists here and there to spice things up. Moreover, it includes an optional substory that unlocks an extra scene in the ending if you meet a specific requirement.
Gameplay-wise is still basic, though some things were improved. The difficulty was adjusted so random fights aren't as much of a cakewalk, and an "auto-win" feature was added for anyone who doesn't care about them and wants to get to the spicy bits as fast as possible. It still limits sex attacks to very few enemies when it would make more sense that most of them could do them, but I assume that's common among the franchise. My biggest pet peeve was how few skills and weapons were in the game and that you could get most of them early in the game.

The art is as gorgeous as you'd expect. The characters and scenes are detailed and beautiful. Moreover, it has a fair share of sex scenes that varies depending on the main character's lewdness. They are locked behind events that require the player to have at least a specific amount of lewdness or any other requirements, save for the ones involving the occasional NPCs that can't keep their hand quiet and monsters, which have no prerequisites.
Verdict: Better than the prequel, but not by much
I liked the game, even if I beat it in about 3 hours. The art is fantastic, the story is alright, and the gameplay is entertaining despite its issues. However, I recommend you wait for a sale before purchasing it because of its length.
