Pros
Lovely story with likable characters
Beautiful art
Nice soundtrack
Cons
It could be longer
I’ll be honest, I played this game without any expectations, and it greatly surprised me. It focuses more on its characters and interactions—like in any other character-driven VN—and they are very well-written. There’s so much chemistry between the protagonists it feels like watching a couple that has been dating for a long time. Moreover, the supporting cast adds humor to some scenes in the game, such as when Carthaginia’s familiar tells the protagonist about his master’s first date with another human guy. It's a pity the game is so short, though. It finishes way too soon, even if there’s more than enough room to develop the characters further and expand their relationship.
Artistically, it didn't disappoint either. The characters and backgrounds are pretty, and the few sex scenes in the game are well-done. Furthermore, the art improves a lot in the last part; the characters and backgrounds are more detailed, and the colors are more vibrant. The soundtrack is good too. Its tracks are nice to listen to and enhance the scenes they play in.
Verdict: Lovely
The Little Black Bestiary: The Salted Cookies of Carthaginia is worth every minute spent playing it. It may be a tad short, but it's aesthetically beautiful, and it's almost impossible to dislike the characters. Grab it if you’re looking for a lewd VN you can read in about an hour; you won’t regret it.
