I took a look at my backlog the other day and realized that not only do I have enough material to stick to a theme but said theme also would fit the day we are in, so brace yourselves, guys, because it's netorare season.
Story
Fleeting Iris puts the player in the shoes of a recently-married woman named Ayame as she moves to Heaven City to live with her husband. She then starts to look for a job since she wants to pull her weight in the relationship instead of being a freeloader, just to find out that almost everyone in the city is an asshole and that whoever named it Heaven City has a very twisted sense of humor.
The plot is enjoyable in itself, but what makes it so good is the insane number of routes and endings it has and how every single choice matters. I also liked that the tone of the endings is varied instead of just sticking to depressing ones for all the routes except the pure one. Sometimes, they learn that sharing is caring, the male protagonist comes back stronger from the whole ordeal, or it ends on such a sad note you feel like they ripped your heart, tossed it to the ground, and then stomped it.
However, I had a few gripes about the plot. For starters, I felt that the pure route was a bit lacking in content despite being canon. What's worse, the post-ending scene feels like it comes out of nowhere because the foreshadowing you get from other routes isn't there. Another thing that bothered me was how the Real-Time Events system, a feature that lets us see things from another character’s perspective and gives some needed context, sometimes hurts the flow of the story and does more harm than good.
Gameplay
It's similar to Material Girl in the sense that you spend most of the time walking around interacting with the city's residents, but it adds many QOL features that make your life easier. For example, you have different speed levels where you can choose how quickly Ayame walks; you can make her walk at a normal speed, as slow as a turtle, or so fast she'll outpace Sonic. Another improvement I liked a lot is that the game warns you when you're about to get locked into a path, so you know what to do before it's too late, plus the name of the route you're following is visible in each save, making it easier to backtrack if you make a mistake.
Furthermore, adding some stats on the menu screen that show how corrupted, horny, and charming Ayame is and how much her husband trusts her is a nice touch. You can tell right away how far down the rabbit hole she went and if you're on the right track for unlocking some side events.
Visuals
The art is simply gorgeous, as you can tell from the screenshots. The characters are very well-drawn and have distinct designs. All the girls in the game are incredibly hot, and the guys' designs are varied: there are average-looking guys, tanned and muscular guys, the ubiquitous ugly bastard, old men, etc. Also, you can tweak the protagonist's appearance by changing her hairstyle, skin tone, and how hairy her pussy is.
However, the best part is the insane amount of high-quality H-scenes in the game. It's rare to see a game with about 80 scenes available, let alone all of them being incredibly eye-pleasing. What's more, none of the scenes reuses art at all.
Verdict: A feast for NTR fans
Fleeting Iris turned out to be so good that fans of NTR stories will love it, and those who aren't into it much may appreciate it for the quality of its art and the variety of its endings. Of course, those who hate NTR with a passion won't like it, but check it out if that's not your case; you'll enjoy it.
I can appreciate this website bro thanks :skull:
