Married Life with a Lamia is an adventure game where we play as a treasure hunter who enters a pyramid looking for riches and, after passing some trials, discovers that the "treasure" is spending his life living with a lamia named Samira and that he has no way out. Samira enspells him before he can try to do anything and thus starts his married life with her. Once the introduction is over, the plot progression grinds to a halt. You learn some bits here and there about Samira when you talk to her during lunch, but you can hear everything right in the first dinner and no new options appear when the relationship levels increase. Moreover, the texts and dialogues have a sizeable chunk of typos.
Gameplay-wise, you spend the day interacting with Samira to increase the relationship's level or performing tasks to gain the money you need to unlock new scenes. You can choose at the start whether she's dominant or submissive, which changes some things. That said, the game gets repetitive fast because you keep doing the same thing repeatedly with no end goal aside from unlocking new sex scenes. There aren't any events that happen from time to time or anything of the sort that breaks the monotony.
I have conflicted feelings regarding the visuals. On the one hand, the characters’ design lacks many details and their colors are flat, but on the other, they are charming in their own way. I also feel the same about the animation in the sex scenes since some are smoothly animated whereas others, like the blowjob at night, don't look as good.
Verdict: Rough around the edges
Married Life with a Lamia sits in the middle of that thin line that separates a bad game from a good one. It has a good chunk of issues that hinder one's enjoyment, and the lack of music outside the title screen doesn't help, but most can be fixed without any significant changes.
