At first, I was a bit skeptical about Fetish Locator because there are so many shovelware VNs with Daz3D art you assume they are average at best. However, playing it for about 15 minutes was all it took me to realize this VN is actually good.
It puts the player in the shoes of a young university student who is back to college after spending a few weeks at home. There, he discovers everyone is into Fetish Locator, an app that gives sex-related challenges and gives points to the one who finishes it first and uploads a picture to the app to prove it. The protagonist, thinking with his crotch instead of his brain, signs in on the off-chance he gets to "interact" with his crush. It's all fun and games at first, but it quickly becomes a nightmare. The MC is soon forced by whoever is behind the app to take high-risk challenges, or else all the pictures he uploaded to the app will be exposed to everyone on the campus.
The game was a pleasant surprise. What looked like your average fuckfest #69420 turned out to be a fun VN where the characters spend half of the time figuring out who is the person behind the app and the other half banging like rabbits. Moreover, the cast is likable. While the protagonist has a bad case of being a "nice guy" and is a bit too into his sister, the rest of the cast makes the story more enjoyable, especially the MC's sister.
Even if everything was modeled with Daz3D, its art is pretty good, and the characters' designs varied. They have different body types and skin colors, which is good when you're tired of seeing the same ripped dudes and women with huge knockers in 3D visual novels. What's more, animating the sex scenes and using different angles for the CG shots is a very nice touch.
Last but not least, it has as many fetishes as you'd expect from a game with its name. There's exhibitionism, consensual cheating, incest, watersports, femdom, and BDSM, among others. You're also allowed to skip the more out-there stuff if you're not into them or if they make you uncomfortable.
Verdict: Very good
Fetish Locator is a good example of why you shouldn't judge a book by its cover. Beneath all the sex and fetishes, there's an enjoyable story that will get you hooked once the main conflict starts. Give this one a go if you're looking for an interesting VN with above-average 3D art.
