Anyone who has been playing adult games for some time probably has, at least, heard of Meltys Quest, one of the most well-known H-RPGs out there.
It puts you in the shoes of Melty, a lazy, carefree, and unladylike princess who goes on an adventure to rescue her three prim and proper sisters from the claws of the Grolido Monster Empire. The story is pretty straightforward and features some twists, plus it has multiple endings you unlock depending on how lewd Melty is by the time you defeat the final boss. However, it bugged me how dumbed down Melty is in the fifth and last route. Sure, she isn't the sharpest tool in the shed, but she's an absolute moron in that route.
Gameplay-wise, it plays like most RPG Makers games but also features some mechanics that make it stand out. Melty learns skills by using specific outfits for a specific number of fights, like in Final Fantasy IX, and some require her to have at least a specific slut level. Moreover, some skills do more damage the higher her slut level is, sometimes outperforming regular skills.
RTP assets aside, the game's visuals are beautiful. The backgrounds and characters' design are stunning, and there are tons of high-quality sex scenes available, although they all are still shots. Talking about it, it features a myriad of fetishes, ranging from light stuff like Yuri, breeding, and exhibitionism to more hardcore ones like monster sex, incest, NTR, and ugly bastards.
Verdict: Fantastic
Melty’s Quest is a solid game with consistently good art and fun gameplay. It may not take too long to beat it on your first run, but it’s really hard to resist the temptation of unlocking everything.
